Colourful Acrylics & mixed media (5 day workshop)

During this workshop Shazia guides students of all artistic levels through the steps of creating acrylic and mixed media paintings on paper, canvas and board. Students will add collage using various materials such as tissue papers, newspapers, photocopies and decorative papers as the base and then acrylic washes and paints will be applied to create a mixed media surface. Drawing will be done with charcoal, oil pastels and finished with acrylics paints. Students will be introduced to image transfer and variety of mixed media techniques.
Shazia will also touch on basics of composition, colour wheel, principles and elements of design during this session. Get ready for a colourful and fun experience!

With over 23 years creative and visual arts background, Shazia Imran has diverse experience in fine arts, digital media and marketing. She has worked in a number of different industries including: digital strategy development in the corporate environment; website and intranet content management in the NSW Government sector; e-commerce marketing, advertising in the retail industry; and advertising and promotions in multinational agencies. This workshop is tailored specifically for artists. Shazia will guide students through the steps of how to use effective marketing and social media strategies to promote and sell their work online.
Workshop includes practical exercises, template and resources handouts.
The course is aimed at basic to intermediate users. Help with creation of Facebook and Instagram pages will be provided for users new to social media. Review/feedback will be provided for intermediate users.
